Cástor Fantoba

Cástor Fantoba Lerendegui Born in Pamplona, Spain 1966. An Aeronautical Engineer by training, Cástor’s passion for flying drove him to become a professional pilot. He gained his extensive flying experience in different areas such as aerial advertising, skywriting, crop-dusting and water-bombing. He currently is an Airline Captain, flying a Boeing 757. Cástor is an aerobatic flying instructor, member of the formation team Patrulla Culebra and member of the Spanish National Aerobatic Team since 1999.

Cástor has participated, as a member of the Spanish National Aerobatic team, in the following international competitions: 1999 European Championships (Córdoba, ES); 2000 World Championships (Muret, FR); 2001 II World Air Games (Burgos, ES); 2002 European Championships (Istra, LT), 2003 World Championships (Lakeland, USA); 2005 World Championships (Burgos, ES); 2006 European Championships (Grenchen, CH); 2007 World Championships (Granada, ES); 2007 FAI Grand Prix Moscow; 2008 European Championships (Hradec Kralove, CZ); 2008 FAI Grand Prix of Japan (Motegi, JP); In 2005, Cástor was awarded the 2005 Premio Flyer for his career in sports aviation.
